DSTRING CMS EDIT subcommand

Use the DSTRING subcommand to delete one or more lines beginning with the
current line, down to, but not including, the first line containing a specified
character string. The current line is not checked for the character string.
The format of the DSTRING subcommand is:
+----------+------------------------------------------------------------------+
| DString | /[string[/]] |
+----------+------------------------------------------------------------------+

where:

/ (diagonal)
signifies any unique delimiting character that does not appear in the
         string.

string specifies the group of characters for which a search is to be made.
If string is not specified, only the current line is deleted.

Usage Note:

The zone set by the ZONE subcommand or the default zone setting is checked for
the presence of the character string. A character string with a length greater
than the current zone setting causes the error message ZONE ERROR.

Responses:

If the character string is not found by the end of the file, no deletions
occur, the current line pointer is unchanged, and the message:
STRING NOT FOUND, NO DELETIONS MADE
is displayed.

Display Mode Considerations

If verification is on when the DSTRING subcommand is issued at a display
terminal in display mode, the screen is changed to reflect the deletions from
the file.
