Pterm7
Abstract
The names Pterm and Pterm7 are defined solely to distinguish the two generations of the PLATO Terminal Emulation software distributions and their respective maintainers.
Pterm is maintained by Paul Koning on the SVN repository at akdesign.dyndns.org.
Pterm7 is maintained on the Retro1.Org repository on Github.com. The Retro1.Org version contains some enhancements specific to the Retro1 hobbyist community.
The PLATO Terminal Emulator is needed to access the CYBIS system. Due to code-signing constraints introduced by Apple, it is recommended that the user follow the instructions to build the emulator.
Building the emulator requires a compatible 64-bit environment. (no 32-bit platforms are supported with PTerm7):
- wxWidgets Cross-Platform GUI Library
- Libsndfile is a C library for reading and writing files containing sampled sound (such as MS Windows WAV and the Apple/SGI AIFF format) through one standard library interface.
-
- The Windows Releases page contains all available versions.
- Windows
- Visual Studio 2022 or greater
- Prebuilt-installer is available
- Linux and MacOS
- Homebrew The Missing Package Manager for macOS (or Linux)
- GNU C and C++ Compilers
- GNU Make
